Open Water Diver (Beginner Course)

This is for the person who is ready to take their first diving lesson.  The course will teach the individual how to be part of a buddy team and achieve a level of comfort so that you will be able to participate in the sport of SCUBA without an instructor.  The course consists of basic problem solving skills and use of the diving systems to make your diving more enjoyable.  We offer three week courses, weekenders, private and referral courses that will fit anyone’s needs

Advanced Open Water Diver

The Advanced Open Water (AOW) Certification Course is designed to expand upon skills learned in the Open Water course.  It’s a good course to take if you want to improve your diving skills quickly or if haven’t been diving recently.  Southern Divers specializes in having a great time while accelerating the learning experience.  AOW is a compact, high-impact diving program that emphasizes diving over formal class sessions.  It provides the novice diver with a structured, well-supervised means to gain the practical experience needed after entry level certification.  This course will allow you to participate in various underwater activities that will broaden both your awareness of the underwater environment and your capabilities as a diver.

You will be expanding your diving horizons into Compass and Natural Navigation, Deep Diving and 3 Elective Dives (either Altitude, Boat, Drift, Dry Suit, Multilevel, Night diving, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Search & Recovery, Underwater Naturalist, Underwater Photography, or Wreck Diving).  This course is offered by Southern Divers in a variety of formats.

Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver Course is an important and crucial step in expanding a diver’s knowledge and experience beyond a purely recreational level.  The course is demanding, but realistic in its conduct, content and approach. Rescue training expands your knowledge of diving, increases your level of diving skill and preparedness, and makes you more aware of what is happening around you in the diving environment.  You will learn how to be adequately prepared for an emergency and how to manage a diving emergency if one should occur.  The Rescue Diver course is a prerequisite for all PADI leadership training (Divemaster, Assistant Instructor, Instructor) and is required for the Master Scuba Diver rating.
